Magic The Gathering collection tracker spreadsheet collection tab with foils and card condition

Free Magic The Gathering Collection Tracker Spreadsheet Template

Do you know how many Magic: The Gathering cards you own? Do you know what your collection is worth, or which cards you still need for your next deck? A Magic The Gathering collection tracker spreadsheet built in Google Sheets can answer all three in a few seconds.

MTG collections grow fast. A few draft packs turn into a binder, the binder turns into a box, and soon you are buying a second copy of a card because you cannot remember what you already have. This free template gives you one organized place to log every card, track what you paid and what it is worth now, and keep a wishlist for the cards you are hunting.

It tracks foils, etched foils, and card condition, so two copies of the same card can have different values. Below is everything the template includes and how to use it.

Overview of the Template

This Magic The Gathering collection tracker spreadsheet has five tabs: a Start Here guide, a Collection log, a Summary page, a Wishlist, and a Settings tab that controls your dropdown lists. You type each card once, and the totals update on their own.

The template is a good fit if you want to:

  • Keep a complete list of every card you own, with set, collector number, rarity, color, finish, and condition
  • Know the total market value of your collection and your gain or loss against what you paid
  • Separate foils and non-foils so your value total reflects what you really own
  • Plan your next purchases with a wishlist that has priorities and maximum prices

Everything is editable. You can add your own sets, rarities, or conditions on the Settings tab, and the dropdowns on the other tabs update to match.

Key Features and Sections

Collection (Main Log)

Magic The Gathering collection tracker spreadsheet collection tab with foils and card condition

This is the heart of the Magic The Gathering collection tracker spreadsheet. Each row is one card. You enter the card name, set, collector number, rarity, color, card type, finish, condition, quantity, what you paid for each card, and its current market value for each card. Total Cost, Total Value, Gain / Loss, and Gain % calculate automatically, and gains show in green while losses show in red.

The Collection tab is ready for up to 500 card entries, and it includes four example rows so you can see how the data should look before you replace it with your own.

Summary

Magic The Gathering collection tracker spreadsheet summary tab showing collection value and breakdown by rarity, color, finish, and condition

The Summary tab turns your log into numbers you can use. It shows your total cards (counting quantities), number of card entries, total cost, total market value, gain or loss in dollars and as a percentage, your average value per card, and your single most valuable card. It also breaks your collection down by rarity, color, finish, and condition, so you can see how many foils you own and what they are worth.

Wishlist

The Wishlist tab holds the cards you want. For each one you can record the set, finish, minimum condition, priority, maximum price, and current price. Set the status to Wanted, Watching, Ordered, or Acquired. The Summary tab shows how many wishlist cards you still need and the budget you would need to finish the list.

Settings (Dropdown Lists)

The Settings tab holds the lists behind your dropdowns: set, rarity, color, card type, finish, condition, wishlist priority, and wishlist status. Type a new option into the next empty yellow cell of any list and it appears in the dropdowns right away. If a set is missing, add it there.

How to Use the Template

Step 1: Make Your Copy

Download the template using the form below, then open the link and choose Make a copy so the sheet saves to your own Google Drive.

Step 2: Clear the Example Rows

Go to the Collection tab and delete the four example rows. Do not delete the formula columns (Total Cost, Total Value, Gain / Loss, and Gain %). Those fill in by themselves.

Step 3: Add Your Cards

Type each card on its own row. Choose the set, rarity, color, card type, finish, and condition from the dropdowns. Enter the quantity, the price you paid for each card, and the current market value for each card.

Step 4: Check Your Totals

Open the Summary tab to see your collection value, your gain or loss, and your breakdown by rarity, color, finish, and condition. The Start Here tab above is the first thing you see when you open the sheet, and it walks through these same steps.

Step 5: Update Prices Now and Then

Card prices move. When you want a fresh total, update the market value for the cards that matter most. Sites such as Scryfall, TCGplayer, and Card Kingdom are common places to check what a card is selling for. Enter prices in US dollars.

Tracking Foils and Card Condition

A foil copy of a card can be worth several times more than the normal version, and a Near Mint copy usually sells for more than a Played one. The template gives each of these its own column so you can value every copy accurately. Set the Finish column to Normal, Foil, or Etched Foil, and pick the condition from NM, LP, MP, HP, or DMG.

Because every card has a finish and a condition, the Summary tab can show how many foils you own and what they are worth next to your normal cards. If you own the same card in two conditions, give each copy its own row.

Why Choose This Template

Built for Magic Collectors

The columns match what players and collectors actually track: set, collector number, rarity, color, finish, and condition. You do not have to adapt a generic inventory sheet.

Automatic Calculations

Totals, gain or loss, and the summary tables update the moment you change a quantity or price, so you never have to add anything up by hand.

Easy to Customize

Add your own sets, rarities, or conditions on the Settings tab. Add columns for grading company, deck name, or storage box if you want more detail.

Free and Works in Google Sheets

There is nothing to install. The template runs in Google Sheets, works on desktop and mobile, and your data stays in your own Drive.

Tips for Best Results

  • Enter prices per card, not per stack. The template multiplies by quantity for you.
  • Use one row per card, finish, and condition combination. A Near Mint foil and a Lightly Played normal copy of the same card should be separate rows.
  • Use the Notes column for the deck a card lives in, binder page, or where you bought it.
  • Refresh the market values for your most valuable cards first, since they move your total the most.
  • Make a backup copy of your sheet before making big changes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the template update card prices automatically?

No. You enter the market value for each card yourself. This keeps the sheet simple and gives you full control over the numbers.

How many cards can I track?

The Collection tab is set up for 500 card entries and the Wishlist for 100. You can copy the formulas down to add more.

Can I track foils and different conditions?

Yes. Every card has a Finish column and a Condition column, and the Summary tab shows a breakdown for each.

Does the set list include every Magic set?

It covers many popular sets, but not all of them. Type any missing set into a blank yellow cell on the Settings tab and it shows up in the dropdown.
